Qeshm Geopark Museum
Qeshm Island Global Geopark Museum is one of the most complete wildlife museums in Iran in terms of biodiversity, which houses more than three thousand animal specimens in an area of 2000 square meters. This museum was established in 1998 by Qeshm Free Zone Organization and all the specimens in it were taxidermied with the cooperation of Professor Parsa. One of the features of this place that distinguishes it from other museums in the country is that more than 95% of its samples are local.
Among the birds exhibited in the museum are the largest bird in the world, the pelican, and one of the smallest birds in the world, the nectar feeder.
The horned snake and Parsley snake are among the most poisonous snakes on the island.
Iran’s largest lizard, Bezmje (Caspian Bezmje) is one of the other reptiles in the museum.
Among the bats, there is the largest bat in Iran, the fruit-eating bat, which feeds on fruit trees on the island and is also known as the flying fox due to the resemblance of this animal’s head to a fox.
One of the most poisonous fish in the world called Sang fish is kept in this museum.
The fastest fish in the world, the sailfish, is available in this museum.
